Artificial intelligence is everywhere.
In training sessions, conferences, and discussions among HR professionals, the topic comes up constantly. And with it, the same question: Is AI taking our jobs?
The short answer: no.
The real answer: it is transforming the way we work.
In practice, what we see is much more nuanced.
Artificial intelligence is an extremely powerful tool… provided it is used with human intelligence. The two are not opposed; they complement each other.
Today, AI makes it possible to:
simplify certain administrative tasks
speed up data analysis
automate repetitive processes
reduce the operational workload
And let’s be realistic: many of these roles are already difficult to fill.
But what it cannot replace:
judgment
an understanding of human dynamics
the ability to build trust
reading between the lines
In recruitment, a resume can be analyzed by a tool. But interpreting a candidate’s background, identifying potential, and assessing the true fit between a candidate and a role requires emotional intelligence that technology cannot replicate.
Furthermore, integrating AI is not limited to simply implementing a tool.
Organizations must also:
train their teams in proper use
establish best practices
raise awareness of privacy and data protection issues
Without this foundation, even the best tool becomes a risk rather than an asset. Because true value lies not in the tool itself… but in how it is used.
And so the real question is not: Will AI replace humans? But rather:
How will humans use AI to become even better at their jobs?
The organizations that will come out on top will not be those that replace…
but those that know how to effectively combine technology and human intelligence.
